FLORAL & EVENT STYLING PORTFOLIO
The magic of hygge is in creating spaces where flowers on the table, soft light, and the warmth of shared conversation creates memories of beauty and joy.
Magical, autumnal, hygge hosting.
Cosy autumn vibes in the barn - dahlias, candles, and twinkling lights. Click to see the full hygge tablescape!
I transformed my old studio barn into a romantic, hygge-inspired space, ready to host a cosy autumnal dinner party. The room was filled with gorgeous shades of dahlias hand picked from Somerset Dahlias (a hygge experience in itself), flickering candles, twinkling fairy lights, and branches collected from the orchard, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every corner felt intentional, from the textures to the soft glow that danced across the walls, inviting guests to pause, breathe, and enjoy the simple pleasures of the season.
Now, the barn has become a space that celebrates beauty and connection, where joyful moments can unfold around a table brimming with seasonal goodness. The autumnal palette of rich colours and layered textures, paired with friends and family, makes every gathering feel intimate and memorable a perfect embodiment of hygge, where warmth and togetherness are at the heart of every meal.
S&G’s Wedding Welcome Dinner.
I had the joy of creating the floral arrangements and tablescapes for Selina and George’s welcome dinner at Earnshill House. From fresh summer blooms to twinkling candles and lemons, it was a truly magical and dreamy golden hour evening. Click to see the full story and photos!
When my best friend Selina and her fiancé George asked me to create the tablescapes and floral arrangements for their welcome dinner, I felt a flutter of excitement and gratitude - it was such a huge privilege to play a part in the beginning of their wedding celebrations (I also had the honour of creating Selina’s second wedding look see ‘Bridal Portfolio’ for the story of her dress as well as being a Bridesmaid) . The evening was set on the old grass tennis lawn at the enchanting Earnshill House in Somerset, with 100 guests gathering under the soft summer sky. The day itself felt almost cinematic: one of the hottest of the year, with the sun casting a golden glow over the pear orchard backdrop. My little team and I worked like busy bees, crafting the majority of the arrangements in my cool barn studio before carefully transporting them to under a shady tree, keeping every bloom as fresh as possible (under the stretch tent felt like a sauna) until the magical moment when the guests arrived.
The brief was whites with pops of butter and lemon yellow, a palette that felt like sunlight captured in flowers. I combined potted herbs and blooms with airy arrangements of hydrangea and agapanthus, complemented by carnations, ranunculus, and seasonal treasures. Lemons and scattered daisies danced along the tables with flickering candles, while a sculptural arrangement on the bar became an artistic focal point. As the guests arrived and laughter mingled with the soft background of music, the orchard and tables seemed to shimmer with magic. Surrounded by the friends and family of Selina and George, with the golden light reflecting off every candle and petal, it was an evening of beauty, joy, and connection - an unforgettable start to a wedding celebration that felt utterly dreamlike.
Galentines.
For Galentine’s, I hosted a cosy brunch for my closest friends, styling a tablescape with my handmade linen collection, pink blooms, and candlelight. We enjoyed berry French toast and cherry frozen yoghurt, and I gifted each friend a crystal heart - celebrating friendship, warmth, and all things hygge.
For Galentine’s, I hosted a brunch for a few of my closest friends, creating a tablescape that reused my handmade Christmas linen collection. I layered in large linen bows, soft pink flowers, and candle sticks to bring subtle Valentine’s vibes to the table. The menu was curated around some of our favourite foods, keeping with a pink and red colour palette - berry French toast and cherry frozen yoghurt adorned with hearts, which we topped with all our favourite sweet treats and fruit. Preparing and enjoying it together felt wonderfully hygge, full of laughter and comfort. To add an extra personal touch, I gifted each friend a small crystal heart, chosen for its unique properties, symbolising friendship and adding a little magical moment to our celebration—a perfect embodiment of Huglig, where connection, care, and warmth come first.
Scandinavian Christmas Tablescape.
Christmas has always been my favourite time of year, filled with family traditions - many of them rooted in my Danish heritage. It’s the season I find holds the most hygge moments, from cosy gatherings to small rituals that bring comfort and connection. For me, it’s also important to create those moments intentionally, weaving hygge into the details. Last year I created a small line of tableware to style our Christmas table and to sell - click through to see how these handmade pieces came to life and became part of our festive traditions.
I had long dreamed of creating handmade table linens and coasters with a distinctly Scandinavian Christmas feel - something I had always struggled to find. Inspired by the festive whimsy of candy canes yet grounded in clean, timeless design, I crafted a collection of crisp linens edged with soft frills, weaving together the charm of Christmas with a pared-back Scandi aesthetic. Each piece felt like a little nod to tradition, while still carrying my own modern touch.
Like a Christmas Elf, I spent the weeks leading up to the season sewing tablecloths, napkins, and placemats, and even fusing glass in my kiln to create delicate coasters that sparkled in the candlelight. The process itself was filled with hygge - slow, thoughtful, and joyful. When the pieces were ready, I shared them at my village Christmas fair Wedmore ByLamplight, where the stall glowed with festive warmth and the spirit of handmade care.
To bring the collection to life, I styled and photographed it at The Space at Carrow in Bruton, hosting a small and intimate dinner that radiated cosy yet modern Christmas vibes. Surrounded by friends, family, and even a few new customers, the evening became a celebration of both craft and connection. What began as an idea grew into something more enduring - a way for others to carry these pieces into their own homes, creating festive tablescapes and new traditions for years to come. This Christmas project feels like the very heart of Huglig -bringing people together through handmade beauty, cosy traditions, and the simple joy of creating hygge around the table.
‘Lover’ Flowers.
Inspired by ‘Taylor Swift’s Lover’ era', I created a playful, heart-shaped floral arrangement full of colour and texture. Click through to see how love and hygge came together in blooms!
I was inspired by seeing Taylor Swift live and wanted to create a floral arrangement inspired by one of her eras. I chose ‘Lover’ as the theme, as it felt like a perfect reflection of Huglig - a place where love meets hygge. I visited Columbia Road Flower Market to select a vibrant mix of flowers, playing with colours and textures to create a fun, sculptural arrangement. From certain angles, the design even takes the shape of a heart, capturing both the playful energy of the era and the warmth and intimacy at the heart of hygge.
Bouquets & Blooms.
I love turning bouquets into full tablescapes that invite conversation and connection - click read more to see how these blooms come to life on the table.
One of my greatest joys is creating bouquets for family and friends, carefully choosing flowers and colours that feel personal and seasonal. I then carry that same palette into dinner party styling, arranging blooms in delicate bud vases along the table. This way, the décor complements the meal without interrupting the view or conversation across the table, encouraging a more intimate, cosy atmosphere where connection and conversation can flourish naturally.
Pumpkin spice & flowers are nice.
I spent a cosy autumn afternoon at a pumpkin patch, carving small pumpkins and squash to hold vibrant dahlias. Scattered tealights added a warm glow, creating a simple yet magical autumnal display. Discover how I turned these pumpkins into a vibrant, cozy centerpiece.
For a cosy autumnal activity, I visited a pumpkin patch and selected a variety of small pumpkins and squash. Carefully carving each one, I transformed them into unique vessels for vibrant dahlias, creating a warm, textured and sculptural display. Scattered around with small tealight candles, the arrangement glowed softly, enhancing the rich autumnal hues and adding a gentle, inviting warmth. The combination of seasonal produce, flowers, and candlelight made for a truly hyggelig experience, perfect for embracing the beauty and comfort of autumn.
Hygge at the Summer House.
Our summer house in Denmark is more than just a place - it’s a heartland of family, heritage, and hygge. From foraging strandrose and rose hips on Gilleleje Strand to gathering stems and berries from our garden for tablescapes and pairing them with homegrown desserts, each moment celebrates the simple, joyful rhythms of life. It’s here, surrounded by family, homegrown beauty, and seasonal abundance, that I truly feel the essence of Huglig - connection, comfort, and the gentle magic of shared time.
My family has a summer house in Denmark, a place that feels deeply rooted in my Danish heritage (something which genuinely has inspired me with Huglig). Whenever we are there, we slow down and embrace hygge in its purest sense - long sunny afternoons spent playing croquet on the lawn (it gets very competitive), summer barbecues outdoors, and family dinners where I love to arrange a beautiful table with seasonal, local, or foraged flowers and foliage (such as Sunflowers). It’s a place that feels especially meaningful, where connection, comfort, and simple joys are woven into every moment.
I cycled down to the local beach, Gilleleje Strand, and foraged some Strandrose and Rose Hips to adorn a summer table. Carefully working around the thorns with a trusty pair of gardening gloves, I gathered the blooms and bright red fruits, each one adding a pop of colour and character. The effort felt completely worth it, as the natural, seaside-inspired arrangement brought a cosy, summery touch to the table - soft, airy greens intertwined with the vibrant pinks and reds, perfectly capturing the relaxed, hygge mood of a summer by the sea.
In the garden at our summer house, we have some lovely recurrent bushes, and last year I picked stems and berries from them to create the centrepieces for our tablescape. I paired the arrangement with the perfect red currant pavlova for pudding, making it a full, sensory experience - surrounded by homegrown goodness, the vibrant colours of the garden, and the warm, comforting rhythms of family hygge. Every element, from the flowers to the dessert, felt connected and intentional, celebrating the simple joys of time spent together in a space that feels both familiar and special.
Floral Seascape.
At Watergate Bay in Cornwall, I set up a wild floral arrangement where soft, airy blooms mirror the gentle waves. The pastel petals and feathery textures blend with the fresh sea breeze, creating a calm, summery moment of hygge.
I set up a wild floral arrangement at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, where the soft, airy hues of the blooms mirror the gentle waves rolling onto the shore. The pastel petals and feathery textures blend seamlessly with the fresh, summery sea breeze, creating a moment that feels effortlessly calm and inviting. As I frame each shot, there’s a quiet, hygge-like pleasure in watching the natural beauty of the flowers and the coast come together - a serene harmony of colour, light, and texture that celebrates both nature and the art of slowing down.
I spent the morning at The Flower Tree, carefully selecting each flower for the arrangement. Wandering through the rows of flowers, breathing in their delicate scents, and feeling the textures between my fingers felt like a quiet, mindful escape—a truly hygge experience. I love the simple joy of picking the flowers myself before arranging them, letting the colours and shapes speak to me. Moments like these make me dream of one day having my own garden, overflowing with beautiful blooms, where I can recreate this calm, creative ritual whenever I wish.
A cosy autumnal tablescape.
Candlelight flickers over autumnal dahlias and apples in a quiet orchard. Wrapped in hygge, this cozy tablescape invites calm, connection, and lingering conversations beneath the soft magic of an autumn dusk.
Nestling a table within an apple orchard at dusk, candlelight dances softly across rich autumnal dahlias and scattered, sun-kissed apples, casting a gentle glow over the scene. The air hums with a quiet serenity, inviting a pause - a moment of calm and connection. This cosy tablescape, steeped in the essence of hygge, wraps around you like a tender embrace, perfect for lingering conversations and the hushed, enchanting magic of an autumn night.
This is one of my favourite projects to date. It envelopes the concept of hygge in a warm, cosy and perfectly autumnal way. As well as displaying the seasonal floral dahlias and apples freshly picked from the orchard surroundings, it also captures the intimacy I aim to create within my designs. It was so much fun to create and was magical watching how the lighting changed as the sun went down, added that extra magical touch amongst the trees and golden glow of candle light.
